The Electoral Commission’s “Lost Voice” Campaign
A new campaign has been launched in Northern Ireland by The Electoral Commission to encourage the public to make sure they are on the electoral register. The new television advertisement, “Lost Voice”, is supported with press, outdoor, cinema and radio executions and runs from 21st August to 6th November. The campaign was created and planned by Lyle Bailie International Limited and revolves around the question “What do non-voters think about important local issues?” In the advertisement non-voters attempt to speak but are silenced by a red sticking plaster, representing the lost voice which results from non-participation in the democratic process. The campaign was created and written by David Lyle and Julie Anne Bailie and directed by Mike Reynolds. It was shot in Belfast.
