As Executive Creative Director, Julie Anne Bailie has driven virtually all of the Agency’s creative outputs for the past 14 years including Road Safety advertising and public awareness material since 1994.  Consequently, she has unmatched experience in directing the creative expression of public awareness advertising strategies to produce impactful, memorable, compelling creative that delivers high levels of talkability.

In partnership with David Lyle, she is responsible for developing all road safety publicity strategies and writing powerful, award-winning television advertising that has created an explosion of public interest in road safety advertising, attracting requests from across the globe to adapt this work for countries including Israel, Italy, Canada, Iceland and Austria.

Creatively, Julie Anne directs the creative development of virtually all of the agency’s visual material to include television, press, radio, outdoor, cinema, leaflets and online material.

  • Julie Anne Bailie's creative work has been recognised in 224 national and international creative awards including Golds from British Television, Hollywood Ollies, Mobius Chicago, Epica (Best in Europe), London International, Montreux, Roses, Kinsale, along with Silvers from Creative Circle and Clios plus many more, culminating in three Grand Prix awards and Northern Ireland's Millennium Award for the best ad in any medium, from any time. She was admitted as a member to The Design and Art Directors' Association for the seatbelts “Damage” film.
  • Co-author of 32 Effectiveness Awards including Ireland’s Grand Prix.
  • She has co-written all the agency's most famous campaigns - NIO Anti-Terrorism, NIO Peace, NIE Flotation, DOE Road Safety and Race Against Waste.
  • Having joined McCann-Erickson in 1990 from London agency Holmes Knight Ritchie (now part of TBWA), she was promoted to the Board in 1996 and appointed Executive Creative Director in 1997.
  • In October 1997 McCann-Erickson Worldwide presented her with the H.K. McCann Leadership Award for outstanding contribution to creative growth.
  • She has also helped negotiate £2.7 (€3.9) million in sponsorships for the agency's core clients.
  • Julie Anne is unique amongst creative directors in the UK and Ireland to have successfully completed the IPA’s Professional TV Production course giving her unique knowledge in the legal and technical complexities of the film production.
  • Julie Anne graduated with Honours from Queen's University Belfast in 1985 and won the University's Dr. Johnston prize for English.
  • A frequent commentator on TV, radio and in the press on advertising issues she is, by far, the most awarded creative director in the market.

  • Julie Anne is married with two young children.
